Challenges and Objectives

  • Preparing timely daily / monthly / quarterly / yearly MIS & Reporting across different departments was a major challenge. Eg. Key reports like Vehicle Tracking status, Stock Report (monthly), Sales, Finance and GST Inward, GST outward file format.
  • Excess Effort, time and cost involved, manual intervention and data redundancy were a few other challenges leading to delayed and incorrect decision making.
  • Management was thus looking for reliable, simple and on-time report developing tool, they could trust.
  • Report included operational excellence which was worked upon in Excel, along with dashboard and KPI reports. And required solution to cater to both the needs.

How the Solution Helped

  • They runs on Microsoft Navision ERP. Additionally, there are other data sources in flat files. MyReport helped in data extraction from all these sources, along with massaging and data consolidation.
  • A SQL Data warehouse was configured considering the reporting requirement across different departments like Inventory, Sales, Finance, etc. This data warehouse serves as a common data lake for preparing Excel and Web dashboard Reports.
  • The data warehouse is auto updated using inbuilt ETL (Extract – Transform – Load) functionality of the tool on a periodic time and frequency.
  • Operational MIS, Tabular reports were built through MyReport’s Excel Add In and management dashboard which gave a snapshot of the departmental and overall organization performance were created on Web dashboard accessible anytime-anywhere on mobiles or tablets.

Results

  • Achieved end to end report automation. A lot of time & effort was saved, resulting into a better and productive MIS.
